Privacy Policy
Effective Date: August 1, 2025
5 Star Cards (“we,” “our,” “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it through this Privacy Policy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you interact with our Facebook Page, App, or related services.
1. Information We Collect
- Personal Information: such as your name, email address, and any other details you voluntarily share with us.
- Usage Information: including interactions with our posts, messages, and features.
- Technical Information: such as device details, browser type, IP address, and cookies.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide and improve our products and services.
- Respond to your messages and inquiries.
- Personalize your experience with our content and offers.
- Conduct promotions, campaigns, and marketing (with your consent).
- Comply with legal and regulatory obligations.
3. Sharing of Information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share it only with:
- Service Providers: who support our business operations (e.g., hosting, analytics, messaging).
- Facebook: in line with Facebook’s Data Policy and Platform Terms.
- Legal Authorities: when required to comply with the law or protect our rights and safety.
Mobile information (phone numbers) and text messaging consent will never be shared with or sold to any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All other categories of information covered above exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
4. SMS/Text Messaging
If you opt in to our SMS/text messaging program, you consent to receive recurring automated transactional text messages from 5 Star Cards related to your account, submissions, consignments, payouts, order updates, grading results, and pending offers.
- Message Frequency: Message frequency varies based on your account activity and interactions with us.
- Message and Data Rates: Message and data rates may apply. Please check with your mobile carrier for details about your plan.
- Opt Out: You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. For help, reply HELP or contact us using the details below.
- Non-Sharing: We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes.
Our SMS/text messaging program is separate and entirely optional — you are enrolled only if you voluntarily opt in, and it is never a condition of using our services. For the full program terms and to opt in, see our SMS/Text Messaging Opt-In page.
5. Google User Data
An authorized 5 Star Cards staff member may connect a Google account to our internal automation, granting us access to that account's Google data. This is a deliberate, one-time authorization performed by us on our own business accounts — it is not part of using this website, and no customer is ever asked to connect a Google account.
When such an account is connected, we may access:
- Google Drive, Sheets, and Docs: to create and maintain the spreadsheets and documents that run our consignment, grading, and payout operations, including per-member tracker sheets.
- Gmail: to read and send mail from the connected business mailbox for order, submission, and consignment correspondence.
- Google Calendar and Contacts: to maintain business scheduling and contact records.
- Google Photos: limited to media our application itself uploads. We do not access the rest of a library.
- Google Cloud Platform: to operate the infrastructure this service runs on.
- Account email address: recorded so we know which account was connected.
We store the resulting authorization credential in encrypted form and use it only for the operational purposes above. We do not use Google user data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not transfer it to third parties except as necessary to provide these services, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger or acquisition. We do not allow humans to read Google user data except with the connected account holder's explicit permission, for security purposes, to comply with applicable law, or where the data has been aggregated and anonymized.
5 Star Cards' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
A connected account holder may withdraw this access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions, or by contacting us using the details below. On withdrawal we stop accessing the account and delete the stored credential.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy or as required by law.
